Wedding photographers in Cumbria, The Lake District – Derwent Photography

Jag and Andrew had a great wedding at the lovely and intimate Augill Castle, and Jag turned out to be a natural when it came to her wedding photography.  They had a great time with a lovely tight knit group of close friends and family, and some great jokes from the children during the speeches

Andrew got a wee bit carried away when we went off for their couple photos, and just had to climb everything in sight!

Jessica & Graham had a beautiful day for their wedding at St Mary’s in Rydal and the stunning  Langdale Chase hotel, on the shores of Windermere. The lovely old double decker bus and the vintage car were provided by Cumbria Classic Coaches  and Jessica’s floweres were by Alex at The Flower Shop in Ambleside.

Karen and Jeremy were married at St Mary’s church in Rydal, after travelling over from Egremont.

They surprised their guests by having the coach drop them off at Lowwood pier where they were transferred to a steamer for a lake cruise to Storrs Hall for the wedding breakfast. The couple travelled there in style in a speedboat

That evening they went back to The Lowwood Hotel for the party and the dancing, there is a sneak preview slideshow below of the highlights of the day, and the full wedding can be viewed in our lake district wedding galleries here after the weekend.

Sarah and Stephen had a scorching hot day for their wedding. Married at St James’s church, Hutton in the Forest, the family’s local church, they held their reception at The Rheged Centre near Penrith.

They had a cumbrian theme for their wedding, complete with gurning competition and Sarah’s grandad’s vintage tractor made a guest appearance, as it is now working on a farm nearby.

Sarah and Dean were married at one of cumbria’s grandest hotels, Armathwaite Hall just outside Keswick. Sadly Sarah’s mum was in hospital, but she was able to watch the service via Skype from Simons i-phone and the hotels own web cam.

This was another wedding where I have previously photographed the family, having shot Carole’s other daughter, Vicki’s wedding at The Lodore Hotel a few years ago, Vicki’s family shots, Sarah and Deans engagement shots and then Vicki and Sarah’s new babies not so long ago! Just for you Carole, I’ve rushed this blog post so you can watch the highlight show of your daughters day below.

Its lovely when you find yourself photographing the same families over time, and especially lovely in this case as I have photographed both the Mark and Rebecca’s sisters babies, as well as Marks family in my Keswick studio.

The couple were married in Gosforth church and transport was provided by Black Horses based in Cartmel. (Incidentally, the last time I shot these horses, an image of the couple in the horse and cart won a silver award in the nw england reportage wedding photography category)

After the service it was off to the usual lovely hospitality from The West Lakes Hotel, for a delicious meal, some great speeches and a rocking dancefloor.

Rebecca and Adam’s wedding was held at Morland Hall outside Penrith. A lovely venue which they had the run of for the weekend.  Luckily it makes for great pictures inside, as it rained  rather a lot, although that didn’t manage to dampen the celebrations.

Cheryl and Mark had a wild and windy, but great,  wedding at the weekend.

They were married at Our Lady of the Lakes catholic church in keswick, and were due to travel by boat around Derwentwater to the Borrowdale Hotel for their reception. The flowers were provided by Evergreens of Keswick. Heavy rain all day cleared for going to the lake, but unfortunately the winds were too high for the steamer service, so the guests went back on the coaches for the short run up Borrowdale.  It did give us 10 mins to get some quick pictures of the windblown couple tho

Helen and Michael’s wedding at The Lowood Hotel on Lake Windermere. was a great day out for everyone involved, and we even managed to dodge the rain for their wedding photography.

Helen’s lovelyl flowers were by Alex at The Flower Shop in Ambleside and Anna Kate Pearson was the harpist with her usual combination of talent and beautiful music.

I had the pleasure of shooting Helen and Lami’s wedding down near Millom, a beautiful and often overlooked part of Cumbria down on the south west coast. Helen grew up here on the family farm and spent a lot of her childhood on this beach collecting shells. The day started at her parents farm at Bootle, before going onto their local church at Wicham for the ceremony and finishing at the old family home nearby, now farmed by Helen’s brother.
