Wedding photographers in Cumbria, The Lake District – Derwent Photography

Sarah and Matt had their wedding the day after Sarah’s 30th birthday, at the beautiful Cartmel Priory,  with the reception at The Netherwood Hotel,  probably the best present Sarah could have asked for . They wanted reportage wedding coverage throughout the day, so they could spend as much time as possible enjoying themselves with friends and family. Speaking of friends, one of their guests was a fantastic singer and, supported by the wedding pianist, Peter, performed some lovely numbers for the couple during the drinks reception.

Johanna and Richard had a beautiful winters day for their wedding photography at Dalston Hall, who incidentally had just that week won their fourth star, so congratulations to Karen and Jan!

Zoe & Simon had a beautiful winters day for wedding photography on the shores of Windermere at the lovely Langdale Chase Hotel, Amy and Andy and their team from the langdale chase  looked after everyone wonderfully, and were really pleased to have the wedding covered by what they refer to as The A team,  Derwent Photography shooting the wedding photography, Lucinda Hayton doing the make up and Alex from The Flower Shop in Ambleside providing the flowers…as they can relax in the knowledge that cumbria’s top professionals are looking after their clients.

Ellie and Ian were married at the Lodore Hotel in Borrowdale, with the lovely Sophie doing her usual efficient & friendly service as the wedding coordinator. They particularly wanted to make sure the landscape was incorporated into their pictures, including a “first dance” outside by the lake

Emma and Paul were married atSt Lukes Church in Little Clifton, in what was the vicars last wedding before retiring, so very appropriately it was the wedding of his friends daughter

The couple then travelled up to borrowdale to The Lodore Hotel for the reception, in a porsche  they had for the weekend, and were quite happy to go out in a slight drizzle for photo’s.

Emma’s chief bridesmaid,  Abby, is another wedding photographer and  used to work for me,  so it was quite amusing to see her having to wear a dress

Sylvia and Craig had a blazing hot day for their wedding at The Landgdale Country Club, coming all the way down from Scotland to get married in the lakes.

They first met when they worked together, and Craig was Sylvia’s boss. The boots on the other foot now tho Craig The complete wedding can be seen on our lake district wedding photography gallery, if you were a guest at this wedding you can get the password form the couple.

Iin the meantime here are a few highlights. And Sylvia and Craig, thank you for the bottle of Glenfiddich and the chocolates for the girls

Vicky and Paul were married at St Oswalds Church in Grasmere and had their reception at The Low Wood Hotel on the shores of windermere, on a very very wet day. But nothing was going to dampen Vicky’s spirits, and we kept grabbing a quick few minutes outside whenever the rain eased slightly. It never actually went off! And anyway, the interior of the hotel is very cool with plenty of great spots for photography

James and Louise had great weather for their wedding recently, and james sprung a surprise on Louise that definitely raises the bar for romantic grooms everywhere

During his speech at Rheged he wheeled out a 4 ft high slab of rough granite, onto which he had carved a poem to louise by hand…all 50 hours worth!

Now thats a labour of love. The fact that they live in a flat didn’t deter James at all, he just said its a promise they will have a garden one day
