Nicola and Mark had a great wedding at the lovely Lannercost Priory, followed by the reception at Skitby House near Carlisle, despite the rain. It actually eased off as the ceremony ended so we could briefly get some shots in the ruins before it came back on again.
The rain dampened no one’s enthusiasm on Lucy and James’ wedding day. The boys had stayed at the Kirkstile Inn in Loweswater, which, coincidentally, happened to be having a beer festival that week Not that anything stopped James having a pre wedding fell run on saturday morning.
The girls were getting ready at New House Farm in Lorton where they reception was going to be held in the wedding barn. Its a great place in a great setting. The service itself was held at Loweswater church, another beautiful building in a great setting.
The rain didnt stop until during the meal, which was a fab hog roast from ribble valley hog roast, but by the time the speeches were done with we had 20 mins of light left and big black storm clouds fast approaching, it made for an interesting challenge and some beautiful light. Lucy and James were well up for getting mountain landscape shots, so up we wnet, getting back to the car just as the first heavy drops came splashing down. Perfect timing and we got some great photographs. Then it was back to the beautifully decorated barn for the first dance, with Lucy’s dj brother doing the honours with the music.
A new idea for me to try, after each wedding I’ll choose one image to show as a teaser for the couple before starting work on the edits, while they are on honeymoon.
Kirsten and Michael really wanted pictures by the lake after the meal, but the timings didnt work out at all, so it was almost dark and starting to rain when the speeches were finished. We went for it anyway and I came up with this
